Welcome to our Denver studio

If we had to choose one word to describe our Denver studio, it would be active. Our lifestyles are active (many of us bike to work, no matter the weather). Our workplace is active (as a dog-friendly bunch, there’s boundless canine energy coursing through the halls). And our practice is active (most of our work is with Healthcare, Science and Technology, and Sports, Recreation, and Entertainment clients). We’re also actively involved in carrying out our firm’s commitment to well-being: we design transformative places that enliven downtowns, foster social connections, and promote physical fitness.

We are rapidly growing our expertise in many different practice areas

With a strong history in Sports, Recreation, and Entertainment projects, our studio has been actively expanding our expertise in Science and Technology, Healthcare, and Civic and Commercial work. What’s next?

We believe in giving back and supporting our community.

Perkins&Will donates 1% of its time and unique intellect to initiate and execute projects that serve communities that otherwise would not have access to our services.

Our studio has donated over 500 hours in the last two years through the Social Responsibility Initiative (SRI). We are currently working with Majestic View Nature Center to help them create a new multigenerational learning facility called the Oberon Classroom.

The Center celebrated it’s ground breaking on September 5th, 2023.
Members of our studio visited Breckenridge to hit the slopes, cross-country ski, and snowshoe.
Fun Fact
Our studio is within an hour’s drive of the nearest ski resort, each year we plan our annual Winter Adventure Day to encourage studio members to get out and enjoy the mountains together.
Studio History

Our studio is housed in a 1927 building originally designed as an arena and amusement hall. In 1933, it was renovated into the Rainbow Ballroom, known for decades as one of best dance halls west of the Mississippi River. The dance hall stayed in business for 28 years, closing in 1961.

By 2002, we had purchased the building, and it was during our renovation that we unearthed a treasure: a series of original Rainbow Ballroom posters promoting some of the greatest musical performers of all time, including Louis Armstrong, Lawrence Welk, Duke Ellington, Fats Domino, Nat King Cole, and Chuck Berry. Today, many of those posters are on display in our lobby for all to enjoy.
