The University of Cincinnati Richard E. Lindner Center, George & Helen Smith Athletics Museum houses the athletic department staff offices, student-athlete tutoring studios, ticket offices, booster club, and retail store functions and is also used for athletic and intramural locker facilities, training, and health services. In collaboration with Bernard Tschumi Architects & Glaserworks, our team created a unique educational facility that combines museum, archive, and welcome center in one central atrium space.
We used large-scale environmental graphics, signage elements, interactive kiosks, archival artifact displays, and new interactive/projection technologies to communicate the school's educational excellence and rich athletic history. These elements allow each sport and academic program to represent its particular history and show real-time visuals of games or lectures in progress and highlight clips and practice sessions within the facility. The finished space is a vibrant expression of the school's heritage and vision for the future as well as a powerful recruitment tool for the university.
